The Rocky Mountain Aquatics team

Dr. Lee Burnham, Director of the Rocky Mountain Center for Human Development and Rocky Mountain Aquatics has worked with families, schools and troubled teens for over 20 years. He is a licensed psychologist, a high school counselor, and is well known for his work with and success with teens who have needed help in getting their life on track.

Dr. Burnham has been a faculty member at the University of Minnesota, Brigham Young University, University of Utah, Salt Lake Community College, Utah State University and is currently a lead faculty member at the Utah Campus of the University of Phoenix in Mental Health Counseling as well as the University of Phoenix Online Doctor of Management and Business Administration programs.

He has served as Education and Family Life Commissioner in the PTA at both the state and local levels and has also been involved in community programs to provide meaningful programs to keep youth busy and engaged in positive activities. One of his major goals is to prevent problems rather than wait around for them to occur.

He has been an active scuba instructor since 1976. His original scuba certification was with the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI). His Advanced Open Water and first Instructor certification was with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI). Shortly after becoming a PADI Instructor he was asked several times to work with PADI to train other instructors working with Commander Jim Williams out of San Diego California. It was during this period of time that he was introduced to one of the original founders of PADI, Ed Brawley, who had formed his own organization called the Professional Diving Instructors College (PDIC). Lee was certified by Ed Brawley as a PDIC Instructor Trainer with the certification number he still holds today IT71. He believes that it is important to manage each scuba experience so that it is tailored to the specific needs, abilities and experiences of each individual student.

Christian -has worked with Rocky Mountain Aquatics for over a year now. He is a senior at the University of Utah and and will become a commissioned officer in the United States Navy upon graduation. He has spent time aboard a submarine and learning how to blow things up, so be nice to him. He also can be seen performing with his band.

Evan - is a former Navy Seal with a really extensive background of underwater experiences. He is building his own trucking firm and not always available but he adds some real depth to our staff when he can be with us.

Jeremy - just barely graduated from Granite High School and is getting ready to leave for a couple of years on a grand adventure. He is enthusiastic about scuba and invites every one to come and try it out.
